North America is a continent situated in the Northern and Western hemispheres and together with Southern America and Central America forms a large land area, known as Americas. It is washed by three oceans: by the Arctic ocean in the North, by the Pacific on the West and by the Atlantic on the East. Being the third largest continent on the Earth, after Eurasia and Africa, North America has a territory of 9,5 million square kilometers.

North America is occupied by four countries: Canada, the USA, Mexico and Greenland. In the early times the territory was inhabited by several tribes, some of which were magnificent and powerful. They have built pyramids and other impressive monuments that still stand and amaze contemporary people. After the Columbian discovery, European countries began to colonize the North American land. Later, the independent countries appeared on the map.

Moreover the USA companies spread their business in other countries: open factories and organize exploration and mining activities. Mexico is a newly industrialized country that provides the world market with competitive electronic products, heavy industry and food.
